International Affairs

International affairs at the Faculty are exercised within the framework of memoranda, treaties and cooperation agreements concluded by the University and the Faculty with foreign scientific and educational institutions and organizations. This allows to formalize partnerships, outline key directions and formats for collaboration, and clarify the authority and responsibilities of all parties involved.

Under these agreements the Faculty engages in a wide range of cooperative initiatives: the exchange of scientific and educational experience, introduction of innovative technologies into educational practice, conceptualisation of relevant scientific ideas and directions, organisation of international academic internships for lecturers, implementation of academic mobility programs for lecturers and students alike, publication of scientific papers in collaboration with foreign colleagues, conduction of joint discipline-specific and interdisciplinary research, research opportunities for young scientists at partner universities.

Recent years have seen a significant strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation with regions of the Russian Federation. Faculty members and students actively participate in research and practical events hosted by various Russian institutions.

The Faculty's head and staff regularly attend working meetings with representatives of foreign organizations to discuss potential forms of collaboration in education and science. Such meetings have included representatives from institutions like the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow), Perm State University, and Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (Kaliningrad).

A particularly dynamic and multi-faceted partnership has been developed with the Republic of India. The Faculty has been honored by several visits from His Excellency the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Belarus and other Embassy officials.

Since 2020, the Faculty has housed a Center for Indian Culture and Cinema, led by Olga A. Kren, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Translation Theory and Practice. In 2022 BSU hosted "India Week" to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Belarus with the official opening ceremony and a series of events held at the Faculty.

The interdisciplinary and creative nature of the faculty's educational specialties and departments facilitates the development of international relations in various fields of linguistics, translation and interpreting, design, art history, cultural studies, and information technologies.
